Our playgrounds for Success Academy Charter Schools are about re-imagining the way outdoor spaces are used by students. We believe that outdoor play and connection with nature are essential to childhood development, and this philosophy drives the designs of our projects.

 

The new playgrounds, ranging from tiny “pocket parks” of 5,000 sf to block-sized 30,000 sf lots, are inspired by site-specific characteristics, such as ecology, topography, urban conditions, and community connections. They provide children with a variety of activity zones, use natural materials and topography to create a multi-sensory experience, allow for structured as well as unstructured play, and incorporate climbing and play equipment that promotes children’s cognitive development and imagination.
