LAKE HOUSE

Located on a sloped lake shoreline, this house is designed to take full advantage of water views and prevailing breezes. By using an L-shaped geometry and orienting all rooms toward the water, the house frames the indoor and outdoor living areas, reinforcing the connection with the lake. Gentle downward steps and a sunken living room within the house recreate the natural slope of the site evoking the experience of "walking down to the water." Outdoor terracing maximizes usable space for play and gardening, and upper floor balconies and decks provide sweeping views of the lake and beyond.

 

The palette and materials are intentionally simple and restrained, using natural stone, wood, and neutral colors. This allows the beauty of the landscape, the lake, and play of natural light to be the central focus. It's all about life on the lake.

 

The house will be built in two phases: a work studio wing with an in-law unit, and the main house. Completion is anticipated in late 2025.
